CASE HISTORY: Two dogs were referred to Veterinary Specialists Aotearoa for evaluation and treatment after sustaining significant head trauma. Case 1 was a 7-month-old, female Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was hit by a car at low speed. Case 2 was a 2-year old, male neutered German Shepherd who sustained a gunshot wound to the head whilst on duty for the New Zealand Police Dog Unit.

Internal jugular phlebectasia is a rare condition. Children with internal jugular phlebectasia are often discovered by their parents when they notice a soft mass in the neck that appears when the child cries, coughs, or breathes deeply. Anastomosis stricture is a well-known complication after esophageal atresia repair. Endoscopic dilatation is the gold standard treatment for esophageal stenosis. However, surgical interventions are indicated for refractory cases. We present a 2-year-old girl with esophageal stricture refractory to regular endoscopic dilatation after esophageal atresia repair that underwent thoracoscopic stricture resection and reanastomosis. Although thoracoscopic approach is widely used for esophageal atresia repair, this approach has not been used before for the treatment of anastomosis stricture.

Bloody nipple discharge in infancy and childhood is extremely rare, and mammary duct ectasia is the most common etiology. We present the case of a patient undergoing lumbar spine decompression for stenosis with a history of Mounier-Kuhn syndrome. The patient presented with axial lumbar spine pain over 6 months with progressive radicular pain to the left L3 dermatome. MRI confirmed spinal stenosis at L3/4 level with associated dural ectasia.
