BACKGROUND: Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) is an ongoing global pandemic caused by the "severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2" (SARS-CoV-2), which was isolated for the first time in Wuhan (China) in December 2019. PURPOSE: To report a case of polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) that was successfully treated by sub-Tenon's infusion of triamcinolone acetonide (TA).
METHODS: A 56-year-old Japanese man had PCV in his left eye with vision of 20/32. The frequency of complications after surgical iridectomy in angle-closure glaucoma is normally considered low. BACKGROUND: Persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous (PHPV) is a congenital disorder that manifests a range of ocular anomalies, including leukocoria, microphthalmia, cataract, and a retrolental fibrovascular membrane. In general, the prognosis for visual acuity with PHPV has been poor. A recent report on six patients who have myopia associated with PHPV showed that these patients were not microphthalmic, did not manifest leukocoria, and showed a mean visual acuity at final followup of 20/160.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to describe the association among nystagmus characteristics, foveal hypoplasia, and visual acuity in patients with albinism.
METHODS: We studied nystagmus recordings of 50 patients with albinism. The nystagmus waveform was decomposed into two types: dominantly pendular and dominantly jerk. We correlated the nystagmus type, amplitude, frequency, and percentage of low velocity (PLOV) to Snellen visual acuity and foveal hypoplasia grades.

We reviewed the records of all patients with pseudophakic bullous keratopathy (271 eyes, 251 patients) seen during a six-month period to determine predisposing factors, associated problems, current management, and visual outcome. Pseudophakic bullous keratopathy was associated most frequently with anterior chamber intraocular lenses in general (155 of 271), and with Leiske style lenses in particular (100 of 271).
