When the nose is missing, most patients would like to have their normal appearance and function restored. Unfortunately, the wound does not reflect the true tissue loss and the available donor tissues are not similar to nasal tissues. Despite the increased volume of patients undergoing selective reconstruction on the occasion of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) in the last decades, the number of patients with rupture of abdominal aortic aneurysms (RAAA) is not significantly decreased. RAAA is catastrophic and life-threatening condition. It remains a challenge to every practitioner. The use of oral mucosa for urethral stricture repair has become the standard approach in reconstructive urethral surgery. Compared to other tissues oral mucosa shows several advantages, such as simple harvesting, good urine tolerance and low harvesting morbidity. For defects of the male bulbar urethra measuring 2 cm or longer, urethral reconstruction with oral mucosa is the procedure of choice. The oral mucosa graft can be used as an inlay or as an onlay graft. Most repairs can be completed in one stage but for complex strictures two stages are needed.

OBJECTIVE: To present an overview of the clinical presentation and pathological anatomy, and the results of surgical correction of 7 cases of epispadias with intact prepuce; a rare condition that has only occasionally been reported in literature.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: A retrospective search was performed in the surgical and diagnoses database between 1991 and 2011. Seven cases of epispadias with intact prepuce were identified. Five presented as a webbed and buried penis, 1 as phimosis and 1 with suspicion for congenital anomaly of the genitalia.

BACKGROUND: Patellofemoral instability affects activities of daily living and hinders athletic participation. Medial column fusion is becoming increasingly popular for flatfoot reconstruction. The authors describe a new technique for medial column arthrodesis via tension band mesh plating. Plating on the tension side would provide dynamic compression of the arthrodesis sites via weightbearing. This technique may be useful to allow patients to bear weight early in the postoperative course after flatfoot reconstruction.

OBJECTIVES: Moderately severe hypospadias can be repaired by a simple onlay island flap procedure with penile dorsal plication in most patients. However, when the penile curvature could not be corrected, and the urethral plate could not be preserved by the procedure, a combined procedure of onlay and tubularized island flap is subsequently needed.
METHODS: Onlay urethroplasty was performed to repair hypospadias in 39 patients with hypospadias. However, the combined procedure (onlay-tube-onlay urethroplasty) was performed on 6 patients who had severe penile curvature even after skin degloving.

A full-thickness fistula of the hard palate can be closed by various methods. Recurrences are seen many times and more stable methods of closure have been researched. The authors attempted to close a palatal fistula by adhering to the main rule of reconstruction as stated by Gillies, "replace the lost tissues in kind." They used a buccinator musculomucosal transposition flap for the nasal lining, a cranial bone graft for the palatal bone, and a local mucoperiosteal transposition flap for the oral closure.
