The case of a 62-year-old female patient diagnosed with an extremely rare clinical variant of pemphigoid--nodular pemphigoid, imitating prurigo nodularis, is presented in the paper. Ectrodactyly-ectodermal dysplasia-cleft syndrome (EEC) results from a simultaneous developmental abnor-caused by mutations of the tp63 gene. Five mutations: 204, 227, 279, 280, and 304 account for most cases of this syndrome. A case with R304W mutation, characterized by the presence of all major (ectrodactyly, ectodermal dysplasia, cleft lip and palate) and two minor (lacrimal duct obstruction, developmental delay) clinical symptoms of the syndrome is presented. This severe case improves the existing knowledge concerning the genotype-phenotype correlations in EEC syndrome.

MATERIAL AND METHODS: This study records the outcomes of the treatment of 21 patients, 19 men and two women, who sustained an amputation of the total of 35 digits (27 fingers and eight thumbs). Juvenile idiopathic myopathies are rare chronic autoimmune diseases with proximal muscle weakness and typical skin lesions. Juvenile dermatomyositis is the most common childhood myopathy. Juvenile idiopathic myopathies differ from adult-onset forms as regards prevalence, course, clinical picture, and very rare coincidence with a malignancy. Early diagnosis and combined long-term immunosuppressive therapy may significantly improve the prognosis.
