BACKGROUND: The management of massive posterosuperior rotator cuff tears is controversial, with no gold standard. Two recently developed techniques that have shown promising initial results include arthroscopic superior capsular reconstruction (SCR) and tendon transfers (latissimus or lower trapezius). A 13-year-old boy was admitted to our hospital because of bloody stools. Although a Meckel's diverticulum (MD) was suspected, capsule endoscopy (CE) revealed no remarkable findings. Wireless capsule endoscopy has been used for the clinical examination of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract for two decades. However, most commercially available devices only utilise optical imaging to examine the GI wall surface. Using this sensing modality, pathology within the GI wall cannot be detected.
