Palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP) is recalcitrant to traditional topical and systemic therapies. Ultraviolet A1 (UVA1) phototherapy, a new therapeutic approach, has recently been shown good efficacy in the treatment of PPP. Captive giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis) are known to perform oral and locomotor stereotypies. However, many studies do not consider the behavioral repertoire of these animals during the time when animals are confined to night quarters.
