A serologic survey for leptospirosis in stray dogs from Moreno, Province of Buenos Aires, was carried out. Sera from 143 randomly collected animals were examined by the microscopic agglutination test. A total of 73 (51.0%) of the dogs have had contact with leptospirae. The predominant leptospiral agglutinnins were to serovar canicola (37.0%) and to a lesser degree against the serovar antigens pyrogenes (4.8%) and autumnalis (2.0%). Confirming previous observations on dog populations in other parts of the world, notably Japan, the Philippine Islands, and some countries in South America, we found that a high percentage of dogs in Trinidad are infected with organisms from many serogroups of Leptospira. Sera from patients with leprosy agglutinated killed H37Rv Mycobacterium tuberculosis to varying degrees. Higher titres were found in association with active disease but there was no difference between patients at the lepromatous or at the tuberculoid ends of the clinical scale. A sharp rise in titre occurred during the active phase of an episode of erythema nodosum leprosum.

Lesions caused by Mycoplasma meleagridis were followed in one hatch of turkeys from one day to 20(1/2) weeks of age. Air sac lesion incidence increased from 20% at one day to 44% at six weeks of age with a slow decline to 10% at 10 weeks of age. Lesions were detectable on careful examination at 10-20% level to 20 weeks of age on laboratory examination, but at 20(1/2) weeks only 0.07% lesions were found in 1000 turkeys from the same hatch. Air sac lesion severity, based on an arbitrary 0.5,1,2,3,+scale, increased in intensity and spread of air sac involvement from a mean of 1.5 at day old to 2.

A case of an infertile man with bilateral seminal vesicles cysts with ipsilateral renal agenesis is presented with emphasis on the semen analysis. Ejaculates showed very low concentration of fructose, leukocytospermia, teratozoospermia, asthenozoospermia, hyperviscosity, marked sperm agglutination and a poor hypoosmotic swelling test. Clinical value of these findings is discussed.
