Fibroblast cultures from patients with different clinical subtypes of glycogenosis type II were compared with respect to residual acid alpha-glucosidase activity and lysosomal glycogen content. Lysosomal glycogen storage was most pronounced in fibroblasts from patients with the rapidly progressive infantile form of the disease, and the most severe enzyme deficiency. Adipose tissue contains adult mesenchymal stem cells that may modulate the metabolism when applied to other tissues. Stromal vascular fraction (SVF) can be isolated from adipose tissue mechanically and/or enzymatically. SVF was recently used to decrease the pain and improve the function of knee osteoarthritis (OA) patients. Primary and/or secondary OA causes inflammation and degeneration in joints, and regenerative approaches that may modify the natural course of the disease are limited. SVF may modulate inflammation and initiate regeneration in joint tissues by initiating a paracrine effect.

INTRODUCTION: The stomach is the most common extranodal site of the low-grade MALT lymphoma. This lymphoma usually appears in elderly patients, with typically indolent signs. At the time of the diagnosis, the lymphoma is usually localized in the stomach and/or the adjacent lymph nodes. The prophylactic action of betalactam antibiotics such as ampicillin and cefotaxime in plague was studied on albino mice infected subcutaneously by Fra+ (Y. pestis 231) and Fra- (Y. pestis 231 Fra-, K-16) variants of the plague microbe. Ampicillin, a semisynthetic penicillin, was prophylactically less active in experimental plague infection induced by the fraction I defect forms of Y. pestis. We used three antitubulin antibodies to localize Dictyostelium tubulin subunits on two-dimensional polyacrylamide gels by Western blotting.
