CO2 laser was first used in the treatment of melanomas in animals. Since then, it has been successfully used in treating many dermatological conditions. A total of 47 patients were treated once as outpatients in Middle Road Hospital by using Model 720 Sharplan CO2 Laser System and Yoshida Opelaser-01 CO2 Laser System to determine the usefulness of CO2 laser in the treatment of various dermatological conditions. This paper describes the association of two unusual side effects of treatment with isotretinoin for severe acne: paronychia and excess granulation tissue in the nails furrows. We report a case of male patient aged 19 years, who in the course of the 36th week of treatment with isotretinoin for acne grade III showed erythema, edema, excess granulation tissue and onychocryptosis in various nail beds of hands and feet, with no history of trauma associated. A literature review revealed few reports of these adverse events, and two clinical patterns of exuberant granulation tissue has been described:

Tumours and tumour-like growths arising from odontogenic tissues constitute a heterogenous group of lesions whose diagnosis can be particularly challenging on the part of both surgeons and pathologists. In children, these lesions are even more difficult to clinically and histopathologically diagnose definitively because of the concurrent diverse embryologic differentiation of dental tissues. A case is presented of a 12 year-old boy who was subjected to inappropriate primary management of a left mandibular mass, due apparently to inadequate consultation to establish an accurate diagnosis.
