Psychometric validation of a 7C-model of antecedents of vaccine acceptance among healthcare workers, parents and adolescents in France.

Support for vaccine decision-making requires a tailored approach taking into account psychological antecedents of vaccine acceptance. We aimed at validating an extended 7C-model of antecedents in three different target population groups (healthcare workers [n = 3870], parents [n = 2002] and adolescents [n = 7118]) and two vaccinations (COVID-19, HPV) in France. We performed a secondary analysis of questionnaires collecting sociodemographic characteristics, attitudes and knowledge on vaccination, and vaccine status and intention. We used standard psychometric techniques to validate a first and

Perceived Need and Acceptance of a Future Chlamydia Vaccine Among Health Care Providers.

BACKGROUND: Chlamydia vaccination is a potentially important strategy to prevent infections and reduce the global burden of disease. Ideally, chlamydia immunization programs would require vaccinating adolescents before they engage in sexual activity. Communication by health care providers (HCPs) has been shown to have an impact on vaccine acceptance. Therefore, it is imperative to understand their opinions on chlamydia vaccines and factors that would promote strong vaccine recommendations to patients to promote uptake. METHODS: Semi-structured interviews with adolescent HCPs were conducted an

Community-Based Healthy Living Interventions.

In an environment in which most people have lifestyles that increase risk for initial or recurrent cardiovascular disease (CVD) events, community-based healthy lifestyle initiatives are highly effective in providing programs, education and support to reduce associated CVD risk factors and improve outcomes. Pioneering programs, such as the Stanford Three Community and Five Cities studies, and the North Karelia project in Finland, served as prototypes for current initiatives. These include partnerships with national organizations (e.g., YMCA DPP) and faith-based programs. Training may be provide

Understanding barriers to routine HIV screening: knowledge, attitudes, and practices of healthcare providers in King County, Washington.

OBJECTIVE: In 2006, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended routine HIV screening in healthcare settings for persons between 13 and 64 years old. In 2010, the Washington Administrative Code (WAC) was changed to align testing rules with these recommendations. We designed this survey to ascertain the current state of HIV testing and barriers to routine screening in King County, Washington. METHODS: Between March 23 and April 16, 2010, a convenience sample of healthcare providers completed an online survey. Providers answered true-false and multiple choice questions abou

[Health personnel and population aspects of common experience with fever in sub-Saharan Africa].

In Sub-Saharan Africa fever is a common experience for the population and health care personnel. However widespread use of the term "malaria" by the population, paramedical personnel, physicians, etc. leads to the false impression of agreement among everyone despite the fact that it is applied to completely different concepts. Although the connection between malarial fever and mosquito bites is generally understood, it is often weak and unstable. Fever can be considered as a normal episode at some stages of pregnancy or childhood development. Fever may be attributed to mosquitoes but also to o

AIDS knowledge, occupational precautions, and public education activities among law enforcement officers and first responders.

A survey on AIDS was administered within a large, southern California jurisdiction to law enforcement officers and first responders (paramedics, firefighters). Respondents had accurate knowledge about AIDS but several incorrect perceptions about HIV transmission; a substantial proportion believed that HIV could be contracted from casual contact. AIDS training was not frequent. Self-assessment of HIV risk was medium to high risk in one-third of respondents, and was largely attributable to fear of occupational exposure. Appropriate precautionary professional practices were adopted at low frequen

Contraceptive social marketing in Nepal: consumer and retailer knowledge, needs and experience.

In 1986, a survey was conducted to assess knowledge, health concerns and experience with marketing (retailers) and use (consumers) of Gulaf and Nilocon pills and Kamal vaginal tablets distributed by the Nepal Contraceptive Retail Sales Company (CRS). A sample of 763 consumers of Gulaf, Nilocon and Indian pills and Kamal vaginal tablets, and 361 retailers from a stratified sample of urban medical shops were interviewed. Direct and Indirect Statistical Associations Between Knowledge, Attitudes, and Behaviours Regarding Subsyndromal Delirium in Psychiatric Nurses: A Cross-Sectional Study.

AIM: To examine the indirect association between subsyndromal delirium knowledge and clinical behaviour among psychiatric nurses, with attitude as a linking factor. DESIGN: A cross-sectional survey design. RESULTS: The mean scores for SSD self-perceived knowledge, attitudes, and practices were 17.32 ± 6.66, 32.55 ± 4.54, and 30.11 ± 6.08, respectively. All three variables showed positive correlations (p < 0.01). Attitudes exhibited a significant association within the knowledge-practice relationship. The direct association between knowledge and behaviour (81.0%) proved to be more robust than

Knowledge, attitude, and prevention practices of cutaneous leishmaniasis in highly-endemic rural areas of Kandahar province, Afghanistan: A large cross-sectional community-based study.

BACKGROUND: Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) is highly endemic in Kandahar province of Afghanistan, but data on the population's knowledge of CL and measures they adopt to prevent it are unknown. METHODS: This community-based cross-sectional analytical study took place over seven months, from September 2024-March 2025, in adults. Data were analysed by descriptive statistics, the Chi-s

"Not just about the pump"-providing sexual and reproductive health information to adolescents with heart disease.

More adolescents with congenital heart disease (CHD) are reaching adulthood and reproductive age. They face challenges transitioning from pediatric to adult health care and need to manage their health and developmental goals. The 2030 Agenda emphasizes a holistic approach to sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), aiming to provide accessible information to adolescents. Healthcare providers (HCPs) must offer appropriate information about CHD and SRHR issues. This study aimed to describe HCPs' experiences of informing adolescents with heart disease about SRH. An explorative study with a d
