The clinical uses of estrogens are associated with serious adverse effects, so the experimental toxicology of these compounds is under continuous review. Structurally different estrogens have qualitatively similar effects in animals when given in amounts way above the rodent uterotrophic dose. Toxicity still tends, however, to be related to estrogenic potency. Carnivores are more susceptible than rodents. Sixteen patients with a megadolichobasilar artery and acute cerebrovascular symptoms are reported. All were explored by computerized tomography and vertebral angiography. The authors have used CT scans and MRI to study pathology in anatomical and radiological correlations of brain slices. The CT scan was particularly useful for studying structures at the skull base, although at the level of the posterior fossa such scans could visualize only those tumors that were larger than 8 mm. even after injection. The CT scan was found to be the most useful examination before surgery for facial neuralgia. In contrast MRI gave a precise cisternal course of the trigeminal nerve and its relations with vascular structures.

Platelet aggregation inhibitors have been more extensively and better studied than all other treatments used in the prevention of cerebral ischaemia. 355 patients suffering from dyspepsia with an endoscopic pathological picture were examined. Campylobacter pylori was sought histologically and by culture. A total of 40 mature or aged rams with spontaneous varicocele detected by scrotal palpation were subjected to detailed necropsy examination.
