Lithotomy, i.e. the surgical method of cutting for stone in the bladder, belongs to the oldest and, due to the high risk, most notorious operating techniques. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness and reliability of micro-percutaneous nephrolithotomy (micro-PNL) for the management of kidney stones in pediatric patients. This retrospective study included 24 infants that underwent micro-PNL for renal stones between March 2012 and April 2015. The inclusion criteria included: age younger than 2 years, stone size <20 mm, absence of urinary tract malformations and active infection, and no coagulopathy. BACKGROUND: Postcholecystectomy pain occurs in 20-30%. The main cause of this pain remains unclear. Whether the underlying gallbladder disease influences the outcome after cholecystectomy is not fully established.

We aim to investigate the correlation of benign prostatic obstruction (BPO)-related complications with clinical outcomes in patients after transurethral resection of the prostate in China. Acute idiopathic pandysautonomia (AIPD) is a very rare disease with acute onset of impairment in the peripheral sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves. We report the anesthetic management of a patient with AIPD undergoing bladder lithotomy and scrotum abscess drainage. Eight cases of rupture of the posterior urethra were observed in children and treated via a trans-symphyseal approach. Repair was easy in the cases seen rapidly (2 to 10 days), urethral suture was effective and the result was excellent. On the other hand, in cases seen later (6 cases), between 6 months and 5 years, marked fibrous callus had to be resected. Urethral repair was not always possible (only one failure out of 6 late cases). This approach preserves genital functions.

Nutritional status of 80 preoperative patients from programmed surgeries of hernias and lithiasis was studied by anthropometric and biochemical parameters. Nutritional deficiencies related to pathology were not expected in these patients. Results were as follows: 77% of the population showed overweight, being 15% obese.
