PURPOSE: To assess the proportions of glaucoma types and clinical characteristics in Vietnamese Americans in a single-center, retrospective study.
METHODS: Medical charts of Vietnamese-American patients who visited a single private practice in Northern California from 1998-2007 were reviewed. The main outcome measures included the distribution and characteristics of glaucoma types, and clinical parameters associated with the presence of various glaucomas.

BACKGROUND: With the rapid development of intraocular collamer lens (ICL) operation, it is foreseeable that we will encounter a large number of glaucoma patients with ICL implantation history. However, our current understanding of the treatment of glaucoma patients with ICL is limited. Hence we report a rare case of refractory glaucoma after intraocular collamer lens and intraocular lens implantation in a patient who underwent unsuccessful transscleral cyclophotocoagulation, which led to intraocular collamer lens displacement, angle closure and uncontrolled intraocular pressure.

We present the case of a 27-year-old female patient who developed bilateral ciliary body edema with secondary glaucoma and myopic shift during systemic treatment with cyclosporine for aplastic anemia. After application of topical atropine and prednisolone acetate and conversion from cyclosporine to tacrolimus, the ophthalmologic symptoms resolved completely. Since an infectious etiology was not evident, we hypothesize that ciliary body edema was caused by impairment of microvascular integrity by cyclosporine.

PURPOSE: Presentation of two cases of malignant glaucoma following filtration surgery.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Two patients with primary angle closure glaucoma has been treated with trabeculectomy. Flat anterior chamber, elevated IOP and the presence of patent irydectomy has been diagnosed 1 and 5 weeks after operation respectively. First patient in spite of peripheral irydectomy, medication and pars plana vitrectomy had high IOP and flat anterior chamber and has lost her sight. Second patient has improved after pharmacological treatment.
