PURPOSE: This study compared the recovery of motor function and the safety of early and delayed surgical intervention in patients with central cord syndrome (CCS).
METHODS: PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science were employed to retrieve the targeted studies published from inception to February 19, 2023. MOTIVATION: Finite-element analysis (FEA) is widely used as a standard tool for stress and deformation analysis of solid structures, including human tissues and organs. For instance, FEA can be applied at a patient-specific level to assist in medical diagnosis and treatment planning, such as risk assessment of thoracic aortic aneurysm rupture/dissection. These FEA-based biomechanical assessments often involve both forward and inverse mechanics problems. Current commercial FEA software packages (e.g., Abaqus) and inverse methods exhibit performance issues in either accuracy or speed.

BACKGROUND: Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a new medical method combining medicine and science. The aim of this study is to summarize and analyze the application of CFD in adult aortic diseases.
METHODS: This systematic review followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines.
