The autoantibodies found in the sera of patients with primary biliary cirrhosis have been shown to react with a component of the mitochondrial inner membranes. Outer membranes were inactive. Passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA) was produced in guinea pigs sensitized with guinea pig Coxiella burneti phase I-II antiserum and challenged with dimethylsulfoxide- or trichloroacetic acid-soluble extracts from phase I cells. The aim of the current study was to verify if cattle vaccinated against leptospirosis may react in diagnostic tests for brucellosis. Sixty cows were divided into 5 groups, each comprising 12 animals. Four groups were given different vaccines against leptospirosis, while the control group received only saline. Two doses of vaccine were given, as recommended by the manufacturers. BACKGROUND: Antibody tests for the varicella zoster virus (VZV) include neutralization, fluorescent antibody to membrane antigen (FAMA), immune adherence hemagglutination (IAHA), enzyme immunoassay (EIA), glycoprotein-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (gpELISA), and complement fixation (CF) tests. Of these, FAMA is considered the most sensitive. However, in Japan, the EIA method is most frequently employed.

The Meridian ImmunoCard (IC), GenBio ImmunoWELL-IgM, and Remel EIA commercial antibody tests are qualitative enzyme immunoassays that detect antibodies to Mycoplasma pneumoniae in serum.
