BACKGROUND: Transoral endoscopic vestibular approach (TOEVA) for thyroidectomy (TOETVA) and parathyroidectomy (TOEPVA) is gaining popularity, yet knowledge is based on a limited number of studies, mostly performed by surgeons experienced in laparoscopic\robotic surgery.
METHODS: All patients who underwent TOEVA at our institution between February 2018 and October 2019 were followed prospectively. Main outcomes were ability to accomplish surgery endoscopically (failure defined as conversion to open approach) and complications.

The technical considerations and preliminary results of 119 patients submitted to laparoscopic highly selective vagotomy are presented. There were 33 with duodenal ulcers, 31 with duodenal ulcers plus gastroesophageal reflux, and 55 with gastroesophageal reflux. Operating time varied from 120 to 160 minutes. Six complications occurred: four perforations of the gastric fundus and two bleeding episodes. Conversion to open surgery was done in four cases and reoperation in one case. PURPOSE: To describe an endoscopic technique for submandibular sialoadenectomy in humans, as well as the equipment, instrumentation, and pertinent anatomy.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Six submandibular sialoadenectomies were carried out in 5 patients (3 women, 2 men; mean age, 26.6 years; range, 16 to 42 years) via a 15 to 20 mm neck incision for insertion of the endoscopic camera and surgical instruments.

BACKGROUND/PURPOSE: Laparoscopy has kindled an interest in minimally invasive surgery in infants. To combine improved cosmesis with the advantages of open exposure, we adopted the transumbilical approach for laparotomy in babies up to 26 months of age.
METHODS: Only hemodynamically stable babies were considered candidates. The umbilicus was incised nearly circumferentially, and the peritoneum was entered in the midline. The procedure was completed in the standard, open fashion by positioning the incision over the area of interest, and the periumbilical wound was closed subcuticularly.
