The authors review 45 cases of patients with Meckel's Diverticulum, 28 were symtomatics and 17 asymtomatics. DM symtomatics were more frequent in males 3:1 and usually the diagnosis was made between 0 and 4 years of age. 85% apared with rectal bleeding, diverticulitis and intestinal obstruction. In a retrospective study of 28 patients with vesico-intestinal fistula, the maximal diagnostic latency was eight years. The most common causes were diverticulitis (16 patients) and carcinoma of the colon (4 patients). Recurrent urinary tract infections with pneumaturia and/or faecaluria were found in 23 patients. CASE PRESENTATION: A 16-month-old boy presented with a temperature of 99°Fahrenheit (F) (down from 102°F at home after antipyretics), grunting, and tachypnea. 20 patients with the complicated forms of Meckel diverticulum are treated. The nosological forms were: acute diverticulitis (n=16), acute ileus (n=2), intestinal bleeding (n=1) and perforation of diverticular wall with foreign body n=1). Various sigmoid lesions, seen on barium enema of 39 patients, were investigated with angiography of the inferior mesenteric artery using three series. INTRODUCTION: Jejunal diverticulosis is a rare intestinal pathology with an incidence of 0.5-1%. While most cases are asymptomatic, 30-40% of the cases may become symptomatic with chronic abdominal pain, malabsorption, hemorrhage, diverticulitis, obstruction, abscess formation and, rarely, diverticula perforation. Situs inversus totalis (SIT) is a rare condition where the abdominal and thoracic cavity structures are opposite of their usual position. Laparoscopic colonic surgery for this patient population is not well described, with only 2 reported cases.
