OBJECTIVE: To investigate the diagnostic value of MRI in radial head fracture with forearm interosseous membrane injuries.
METHODS: From December 2011 to December 2012,26 patients with fractures of capitulum radial in our hospital were collected. CASE: While working in a factory, a thirty-five-year-old man injured his right forearm and was then diagnosed with acute compartment syndrome. Ruptures of the flexor and extensor tendons were revealed via single volar and dorsal incisions. OBJECTIVE: We present the case of a 14-year-old Factor VIII-deficient patient with no history of trauma, who developed acute spontaneous compartment syndrome of the volar forearm. We also suggest a treatment strategy.
METHODS: Fasciotomy with hematoma evacuation and ipsilateral carpal tunnel release was performed, and the wound was closed with vascular loops in "Jacob's ladder" fashion. Factor infusions were continued overnight.

Neonatal compartment syndrome is a rare condition mainly involving the upper extremity associated with necrotic lesions. It is often initially misdiagnosed because the skin lesions mimic several other conditions of the newborn. Early diagnosis and timely intervention are of paramount importance to achieve the best outcome. In the present case, we describe a newborn with forearm compartment syndrome owing to being stuck in the birth canal.
