Tension-free prosthetic mesh repair of giant, complex, or recurrent ventral hernias in the form of a modified Stoppa technique has been used in 60 cases. Complication rate has been comparable with other such studies. From april 1992 to april 1994 we performed 120 laparoscopic transperitoneal hernia repairs using a polypropylene mesh. This paper is a preliminary review of the method we used and our results. It is generally acknowledged that trap-governed charge transport underlies the dielectric properties of polyolefin dielectrics.
