Treatment with protease inhibitors in some persons infected with HIV-1 is associated with a syndrome of lipodystrophy manifesting as peripheral lipoatrophy, relative central adiposity, insulin resistance, and serum lipid abnormalities. Colonic intussusception is an uncommon phenomenon in adults. Advanced imaging has facilitated the increase in awareness of this rare disease. When present, the lead point is most often secondary to a malignancy with primary adenocarcinoma being the most frequent cause. Current surgical management involves oncologic resections for this reason. This is a report of the third ever-reported case of colonic intussusception secondary to an angiolipoma and the first in the western hemisphere. We also demonstrate that these masses are amenable to minimally invasive resection for definitive management.

Three cases of infiltrating congenital lipomatosis of the face are presented. These lesions shared the following morphologic criteria: 1) nonencapsulated congenital fatty tumor; 2) infiltration of adjacent muscle and soft tissue; 3) absence of lipoblast and malignant characteristics; 4) presence of fibrous elements with numerous nerve bundles and vessels; and 5) hypertrophy of subjacent bone. Tuberous sclerosis is a rare neuro-cutaneous syndrome with autosomal dominant penetrance. We report a 46-year-old woman with a nine-year history of obesity; chronic diffuse pain in the adipose tissue of her medial upper arms, lower trunk, and thighs; multiple biopsy-proven lipomas and angiolipomas; and a lipomatous pseudomass of the breast. A markedly echogenic and sharply marginated suprarenal mass was found incidentally during an abdominal sonography in the case of three patients. One female patient died due to a mesenterial infarct, in the other cases the tumors were removed surgically. Benign lipomatous lesions involving soft tissue are common musculoskeletal masses that are classified into nine distinct diagnoses: lipoma, lipomatosis, lipomatosis of nerve, lipoblastoma or lipoblastomatosis, angiolipoma, myolipoma of soft tissue, chondroid lipoma, spindle cell lipoma and pleomorphic lipoma, and hibernoma. To facilitate a diagnosis of a lipoma, specific imaging is needed such as ultrasound or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Two male patients exhibiting a soft tissue tumor in the salivary gland area were examined using sonography and MRI. Final diagnosis was identified by excision biopsy. We report a case of cutaneous angiomyolipoma found on the helix of a 67-year-old man. The lesion was studied by routine light microscopy, special stains, immunohistochemical methods, and electron microscopy.
