Cinobufacino injection is a significant anti-tumor medicine for the treatment of various tumors in clinic, which was made from water extraction of the skin of Bufo bufo gargarizans. In present paper, HPLC-DAD-FT-ICR-MS method was used to identify the major bufadienolides in cinobufacino for the first time. Solid-phase extraction with dichloromethane and silica was used to enrich the total bufadienolides in cinobufacino. (Acari: Trombiculidae) infestations in two spadefoot toads (Spea spp. Anura: Pelobatidae) captured from playa wetlands in the Southern High Plains, Texas. The isolated liver nuclei and the mature sperm nuclei from Rana nigromaculata and Bufo bufo asiaticus had been investigated by indirect immunofluorescence method with anti serum specific to the spindle fiber attachments (SFAs) from the scleroderma patients with CREST syndrome. The gall bladder from 6 Psammophis sibilans, 10 Bufo regularis and 10 Albino mice were extracted and prepared for microscopic examination. A novel neurotoxic protein phospholipase A(2) (PLA(2)), molecular weight 13 881.83 Da, has been isolated from snake venom of Gloydius ussuriensis, named as Gln49-PLA(2), which shows weak lethal toxic, myotoxic and apparent anticoagulant activity, but lacks phospholipase activity. Soil, water, and amphibian tissues collected between 1995 and 1999 from 15 study sites in Bermuda were analysed for pesticides and heavy metals. The most abundant pesticide residue in soil was p,p'-dichlorodiphenyldichloroethylene (DDE) which was found at all sites in concentrations ranging from 0.003 to 4.023 p.p.m. No pesticide residues were found in water. Alaria alata is known as a trematode with a complex life cycle. The trematode Alaria alata infects amphibians as second intermediate hosts. In the present study, we examined 390 amphibians-European water frogs Pelophylax esculentus complex (n = 335), common frogs Rana temporaria (n = 19), moor frogs Rana arvalis (n = 3), and common toads Bufo bufo (n = 30) collected from randomly selected wetland habitats in Latvia. A simple and inexpensive apparatus makes possible the feeding of nonliving objects to the toad. The device is used to demonstrate the perception of apparent or "induced" motion. Two methods are successful: (i) toad and food moving together at a constatnt velocity in a stationary environment; (ii) toad and food stationary with the environment moving. The phenomena are similar to those found in human beings.

The review presents literature data and results of the author's studies with the goal to find out whether lower animals are susceptible to motion sickness.
