AIM: We determined the effect of wearing clothes under the manometer's cuff on blood pressure in manual auscultatory sphygmomanometric and automatic oscillometric blood pressure measurement.
METHODS: Two hundred and one subjects were examined with the auscultatory sphygmomanometric and the automatic oscillometric method, each with and without sleeved arm in random order. The auscultatory readings were blinded for the subjects' state of clothing. Common shirts and sweaters (thinner than 2 mm) were used.

Xeroderma pigmentosum is associated with severe actinic degeneration of the skin. Our patient with xeroderma pigmentosum showed increasing actinic damage in some areas covered by clothes. Phthalic acid esters (PAEs), commonly used as plasticizers in clothing manufacturing to enhance flexibility and ductility, were investigated in six types of children's intimate apparel. This study aims to assess the burden and patterns of clothing-related motorcycle injuries in Karachi, Pakistan. Data were extracted from an ongoing traffic injury surveillance system. In three years (2007-2009), out of 99155 road traffic injury cases there were 986 (0.9%) cases of clothing-related motorcycle injuries. Most cases were females (73.9%) and pillion riders (80.6%). OBJECTIVE: Paraspinal textiloma (ParaTex) is a well-known complication after posterior lumbar surgery. However, there are few articles on this topic, probably because of medicolegal concerns. In addition, patients with ParaTex can remain asymptomatic for months or even years unless it causes complications. It is generally assumed that if a wide QRS complex tachycardia has the same morphology on the 12-lead electrocardiogram as during sinus rhythm, the tachycardia is supraventricular. BACKGROUND: The presentation of acute aortic dissection can pose a challenge for emergency physicians, as it may occur without pain. Atypical presentations can lead to significant delays in diagnosis and increased mortality rates.
