INTRODUCTION: Drawing tasks are an elementary component of psychological assessment in the evaluation of mental health. With the rise of digitalization not only in psychology but healthcare in general, digital drawing tools (dDTs) have also been developed for this purpose. This scoping review aims at summarizing the state of the art of dDTs available to assess mental health conditions in people above preschool age.
METHODS: PubMed, PsycInfo, PsycArticles, CINAHL, and Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection were searched for dDTs from 2000 onwards. The focus was on dDTs, which not only e

Digital health technology tools (DHTTs) present real opportunities for accelerating innovation, improving patient care, reducing clinical trial duration and minimising risk in medicines development. This review is comprised of four case studies of DHTTs used throughout the lifecycle of medicinal products, starting from their development. These cases illustrate how the regulatory requirements of DHTTs used in medicines development are based on two European regulatory frameworks (medical device and the medicinal product regulations) and highlight the need for increased collaboration between vari

BACKGROUND: While many digital mental health interventions (DMHIs) have been found to be efficacious, patient engagement with DMHIs has increasingly emerged as a concern for implementation in real-world clinical settings. To address engagement, we must first understand what standard engagement levels are in the context of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and how these compare with other treatments.
OBJECTIVE: This scoping review aims to examine the state of reporting on intervention engagement in RCTs of mobile app-based interventions intended to treat symptoms of depression. We sought to

Artificial intelligence in mental health has emerged as a potent tool to foster precision psychiatry, for example, by stratifying patient populations. A potential step forward would be mental health digital twins-the independent in-silico reconstruction of an individual person within their functional social and environmental systems that continuously incorporate all known and available subject parameters to predict patient trajectories including the outcomes of interventions. Generative artificial intelligence in the form of large language models demonstrated the ability to mimic human respons

Health Digital Twins (HDTs) have attracted increasing interest as a potential tool for improving both patient care and clinical research, particularly in oncology where clinical trials remain slow, costly, and operationally complex. This primer introduces the concept of digital twins in a form accessible to professionals involved in oncology clinical research and outlines the main components of health digital twins, describes how these systems are generated, and highlights their potential relevance to oncology trials. HDTs are personalized, dynamically updated, predictive, and decision-informi

Digital health innovations hold enormous potential to expand access to care. Yet individuals with disabilities often face inequities due to systemic, environmental, and design-related barriers that limit full participation in digital health ecosystems. These challenges often arise from the ways digital tools and systems are designed rather than the impairment itself. This perspective discusses the intersection of disability, digital health, and equitable access through key disability frameworks including the International Classification of Functioning (ICF), the Health Equity Framework for Peo

BACKGROUND: Health disparities persist and are influenced by digital transformation. Although digital tools offer opportunities, they can also exacerbate existing inequalities, a problem amplified by the COVID-19 pandemic and the related infodemic. Health equity audit (HEA) tools, such as those developed in the United Kingdom, provide a framework to assess equity but require adaptation for the digital context. Digital determinants of health (DDoH) are increasingly recognized as crucial factors influencing health outcomes in the digital era.
OBJECTIVE: This editorial proposes an approach to ex

BACKGROUND: Concussion is a common condition that can lead to a constellation of symptoms that affect quality of life, social integration, and return to work. There are several evidence-based behavioral and psychological interventions that have been found to improve postconcussion symptom burden. However, these are not routinely delivered, and individuals receive limited support during their concussion recovery.
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to develop and test the feasibility of a digital health intervention using a systematic evidence-, theory-, and person-based approach.
METHODS: This was a
