Automated threshold static perimetry with the Humphrey field analyzer and kinetic and suprathreshold static perimetry with the Goldmann perimeter were performed on 171 eyes: 69 with glaucoma or ocular hypertension, 69 with "neurologic" disorders, and 33 normal. Changes in the visual system following prolonged near work were investigated. Fifteen young, normal subjects undertook a severe, two hour long, binocular near visual task at 20 cm without any breaks. Fusional stress was assessed by near 'phoria change. Refractive change was measured with an autorefractometer to investigate whether transient myopia occurred and its subsequent recovery. The Teller Acuity Card test was used to examine 49 normal children, 77 with strabismus, 9 with anisometropia and 19 with various organic ocular diseases. The vision of some of these children was also tested with the Landolt C and fixation preference tests. A comparison of the three tests showed that strabismic amblyopia is not reliably detected with the Teller Acuity Cards. On the other hand, this test appears to be a good one for detecting loss of acuity due to ocular diseases.

We studied ocular motor function in 34 patients with motor neuron disease (MND) and in 18 age-matched controls. This included the latency, accuracy, and amplitude-velocity relationships of saccades. INTRODUCTION: The aim of our study was to assess the outcome of Gore-Tex sutures in minimally invasive scleral fixation of subluxated posterior chamber intraocular lenses (PCIOLs) and to demonstrate a method for validating the lens position.
METHODS: Retrospective study of patients who underwent lasso in-the-bag scleral fixation of a subluxated PCIOL using the snare technique with Gore-Tex suture from 2019 to 2021 in a single tertiary medical center.
