Although multiple studies have demonstrated the accuracy of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT, its ability to predict survival outcomes and treatment response remains unclear. This study assessed the prognostic value of 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT in staging unfavorable intermediate- or high-risk prostate cancer (PCa) in patients who are candidates for radical prostatectomy. Methods: This prospective multicenter trial supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency enrolled 775 patients across 11 countries with newly diagnosed, unfavorable intermediate- or high-risk PCa. Patients underwent 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT,

BACKGROUND: MRI is recommended for men with clinical suspicion of significant prostate cancer. Those with high clinical risk but non-suspicious or equivocal MRI often undergo prostate biopsy, but have a low likelihood of clinically significant prostate cancer, and a high incidence of clinically insignificant prostate cancer. We aimed to investigate whether gallium-68 ([68Ga]Ga)-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-11 PET-CT could reduce the number of people requiring prostate biopsy and limit biopsy to targeted cores, without compromising clinically significant prostate cancer diagnosis.

68Ga-PMSA PET imaging has revolutionized both diagnosis and radioligand therapy selection in patients with metastatic prostate cancer. We report the case of a 63-year-old man with prostate adenocarcinoma who underwent radical prostatectomy followed by radiation therapy and ADT. Found to have rising PSA levels and referred for 68Ga- PSMA PET/CT for restaging. 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT showed multiple suspicious 68Ga-PSMA PSMA avid mediastinal lymph nodes and an avid lesion in the right lower anterior abdominal wall; suspicious for metastasis. Ultrasonography guided biopsy showed metastatic prostate aden

BACKGROUND: The delineation of intraprostatic lesions is vital for correct delivery of focal radiotherapy boost in patients with prostate cancer (PC). Errors in the delineation could translate into reduced tumour control and potentially increase the side effects. The purpose of this study is to compare PET-based delineation methods with histopathology.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study population consisted of 15 patients with confirmed high-risk PC intended for prostatectomy. [68Ga]-PSMA-PET/MR was performed prior to surgery. Prostate lesions identified in histopathology were transferred to th

BACKGROUND. Growing clinical adoption of PET/MRI for prostate cancer (PC) evaluation has increased interest in reducing PET/MRI scanning times. Reducing acquisition time per bed position below current times of at least 5 minutes would allow shorter examination lengths. OBJECTIVE. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of different reduced PET acquisition times in patients with PC who underwent 68Ga-PSMA-11 or 68Ga-RM2 PET/MRI using highly sensitive silicon photomultiplier-based PET detectors. METHODS. This study involved retrospective review of men with PC who underwent PET/MRI a

Within 48 hours after surgery, disease assessment in glioblastoma is a challenge for both the clinician and the radiologist. Certain technical and logistical issues prevail in this period. Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen PET/CT is a known molecular imaging marker in prostate cancer. Its role in high-grade gliomas has been recently discussed. We present a case of a 39-year-old man with recurrence glioblastoma of the right frontal lobe and underwent resurgery. After surgery, Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen PET/CT showed residual disease along the posterior and inferior margin of the

BACKGROUND: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and most aggressive primary tumor of the brain. After initial therapy and total resection of GBM, 80% to 90% of recurrences occur at the surgical margins. Currently, limited data are available in the literature on the possible use of Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA-11) for diagnosis of recurrence in GBM patients. The aim was to assess the feasibility and potential of Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT as a diagnostic procedure in patients with histologically confirmed of GBM and suspected recurrent disease on MRI.
RESULTS: No radiopharma

A 76-year-old man with a prior medical history of resected malignant melanoma of the skull underwent Ga-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) PET/CT due to rising tumor markers of a known prostate carcinoma. Unexpected high Ga-PSMA brain uptake was encountered around the surgical cavity in the skull with initially no specific structural changes on anatomical imaging. Successive CT and MRI eventually revealed local melanoma brain recurrence at this site. This interesting case demonstrates the diagnostic potential of Ga-PSMA PET/CT imaging for detection of malignant melanoma brain recurrence

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common solid renal malignancy that metastasizes typically to lungs, bones, liver, adrenals, and lymph nodes. Isolated pleural metastases of RCC are extremely rare, with only few cases reported in the literature. We report one such case of a 60-year-old woman, a known case of RCC of the left kidney who underwent nephrectomy, and on follow-up, PET/CT scan revealed diffuse thick nodular hypermetabolic left pleural thickening, which was later biopsied and turned out to be pleural metastases from RCC. No other site of metastases was found.

CONTEXT: Accurate staging of high-risk localised, advanced, and metastatic prostate cancer is becoming increasingly more important in guiding local and systemic treatment. Gallium-68 prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography (PET) has increasingly been utilised globally to assess the local and metastatic burden of prostate cancer, typically in biochemically recurrent or advanced disease. Following our previous meta-analysis, a high-volume series has been reported highlighting the utility of 68Ga-PSMA PET in this setting.
OBJECTIVE: To perform a systematic review a

A 76-year-old man with prostate cancer pT2c N0 M0 R1 GS9 (4+5) operated 2009 and radiated postoperatively underwent restaging by Ga-PSMA-PET in January 2017 because of PSA rise at 0.44 ng/ml under medication with GnRH analogues. An intense focal uptake of the diffusely enlarged left adrenal gland was observed as the only pathological finding. Further evaluation by MRI imaging revealed a plump left adrenal gland with a relatively enlarged diameter of 2 cm and excluded tumor and nodular hyperplasia as well. Without any change of the therapeutic regime the patient presented in July 2017 with a PS

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is a cell surface glycoprotein which is frequently overexpressed on prostate cancer cells. Ga-PSMA PET/CT plays an increasing role in prostate cancer management. However, growing evidence suggests increased PSMA uptake in a variety of other malignant tumor entities and in some benign lesions. This report describes PSMA uptake in numerous thoracic lymph nodes in a patient with known mediastinal sarcoidosis. Knowledge and recognition of these possibilities are important to avoid scan misinterpretation.

PURPOSE: Multi-parametric magnetic resonance imaging (MP-MRI) is currently the most comprehensive work up for non-invasive primary tumor staging of prostate cancer (PCa). Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-Positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET/CT) is presented to be a highly promising new technique for N- and M-staging in recurrent PCa-patients. The actual investigation analyses the potential of (68)Ga-PSMA11-PET/CT to assess the extent of primary prostate cancer by intra-individual comparison to MP-MRI.
METHODS: In a retrospective study, ten patients with primary PCa u

A 67-year-old man with newly diagnosed prostate adenocarcinoma underwent 68 Ga-PSMA PET/CT for initial staging. In addition to intense focal uptake in the prostate gland consistent with the primary tumor, the scan demonstrated heterogeneous PSMA uptake in the inferior-anterior region of the left temporal lobe adjacent to the left cavernous sinus. Further evaluation of this intracranial lesion with brain MRI raised a differential diagnosis between prostate cancer metastasis and cavernous sinus meningioma. Ultimately, surgical resection and histopathologic analysis established the diagnosis of s

An immunohistochemical study demonstrates that most of the cholangiocarcinomas have PSMA expression in the tumor neovasculature. PSMA PET findings of cholangiocarcinomas are rarely reported. We describe 68 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT and delayed abdominal 68 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/MRI findings in a case of mass-forming type of perihilar cholangiocarcinoma. The tumor showed intense PSMA uptake with SUV max of 10.8 on 68 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT and SUV max of 7.8 on delayed 68 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/MRI.

A 53-year-old man presented with right upper abdominal pain for more than 3 weeks without an apparent cause. Multiple sequences of MR imaging detected multiple liver nodules with irregular peripheral enhancement. 18 F-FDG and 68 Ga-FAPI PET showed multiple elevated tracer uptake, which mimicked multiple liver metastases of unknown primary focus. Finally, the pathology of ultrasound-guided biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of hepatic eosinophilic granuloma (HEG).
