Probiotic Lacticaseibacillus casei 2S-1 Attenuates Escherichia coli-Induced Enteritis via Gut Microbiota Modulation and Host Gene Regulation.

Maintaining gut microbial homeostasis is crucial for host health, whereas infection with Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a major contributor to intestinal inflammation and microbial dysbiosis. Recent research has focused on probiotic strategies for managing enteric inflammatory disorders. Previous studies have shown that beneficial microorganisms show protection through modulating host immune responses, enhancing intestinal epithelial barrier integrity, and inhibiting pathogenic bacteria. To evaluate the prophylactic effectiveness of a recently isolated strain, Lacticaseibacillus casei 2S-1, in

Prolonged Lacticaseibacillus paracasei strain Shirota intake modulates gut microbiota and colonic mucosal gene expression following colonic adenoma resection.

Lacticaseibacillus paracasei strain Shirota (LcS), promotes intestinal homeostasis, modulates immune cells, and provides anti-stress benefits. Four years of BLP (Biolactis powder: LcS preparation) administration is known to suppress the recurrence of highly dysmorphic polyps in participants who underwent colorectal adenoma resection. Furthermore, adenoma development tended to be suppressed in patients undergoing colorectal adenoma resection who consumed BLP for >20 years, accompanied by a reduction in aging weight loss. However, the underlying mechanisms and effects of prolonged BLP intake on

From Clinical to Benchside: Lacticaseibacillus and Faecalibacterium Are Positively Associated With Muscle Health and Alleviate Age-Related Muscle Disorder.

Sarcopenia is an age-related muscle disorder that increases risks of adverse clinical outcomes, but its treatments are still limited. Gut microbiota is potentially associated with sarcopenia, and its role is still unclear. To investigate the role of gut microbiota in sarcopenia, we first compared gut microbiota and metabolites composition in old participants with or without sarcopenia. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) from human donors to antibiotic-treated recipient mice was then performed. Specific probiotics and their mechanisms to treat aged mice were identified. Old people with sarc

Metabolomic signatures of probiotic secretomes reveal strain-specific biofunctional potential: insights from Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus R0011 and Bifidobacterium longum R0175.

Probiotic secretomes are cell-free byproducts of bacterial growth, which contain bioactive metabolites. These metabolites have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects and mediate the host-microbe and microbe-microbe interactions. However, the metabolomic profiles of probiotic secretomes are strain-specific and have not been fully investigated. Untargeted metabolomic analysis was used to characterise the metabolomic profiles of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus R0011 (R11) secretome (LR) and Bifidobacterium longum R0175 (R175) secretome (BL). LR and BL had distinct metabolomic profiles. LR exhibit

INTRODUCTION: Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) has become a global epidemic with an unclear etiology and no effective therapeutic options. Disruption of the gut-liver axis driven by intestinal dysbiosis is closely implicated in MAFLD pathogenesis, making gut microbiota-targeted probiotic interventions promising preventive strategies. METHODS: Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus B6, a probiotic strain isolated from homemade Bulgarian fermented milk, synthesizes immunomodulatory macromolecules and regulates the intestinal flora. In the present study, we comprehensively inve
