Exact numbers of homeless persons in the United States are difficult to assess, though estimates of homeless persons range from 250,000 to 3 million. The homeless population has shifted to include women and children, including two parent families. Providing health care for the homeless is one of the most important and challenging health issues today. There are many barriers to providing adequate health care. The purpose of this article is to describe the complexity of the role and the experiences of a pediatric nurse practiti

BACKGROUND: There is a shortage of primary and mental health care providers in rural U.S. communities, contributing to poor health outcomes among rural populations. We developed a Regional Delivery Model as part of a Doctor of Nursing practice (DNP) program to address this shortage.
METHOD: Annual surveys for rural students included a Likert-type scale and open-ended questions. We tracked enrollment, dropout and graduation rates, and employment data. Descriptive statistics were calculated for all survey responses. Qualitative descriptive analysis was conducted for open-ended responses.

Securing grant funding is an important achievement for nurse practitioners and academic faculty, yet the postaward phase introduces complex administrative, regulatory, and scholarly responsibilities essential to project success. This article is the second in a two-part series examining the lifecycle of a grant. Building on part 1, which focused on preaward planning and proposal development, this manuscript addresses postaward activities from award acceptance through dissemination. Drawing on the authors' shared experience as principal investigators and project directors, the article provides p

There is no such science as medicine where half life is 7 years, what means that in 3-4 years 50% of current knowledge will be wrong. If doctors use old techniques and methods then they will cure patients wrongly. Very fast and rapid increase of biomedical sciences and medical information in certain way force medical professionals to continuity learning in order to stay update. In this project a quantitative method of examination has been used. For the purposes of the research a survey questionnaires were created consisted of 28, 35 and 18 questions for all three groups of examinees. Beside ge

BACKGROUND: Globally, stillbirths account for 2.7 million infant deaths each year, with the vast majority occurring in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Approximately 900,000 infants die due to birth asphyxia. The focus of the Helping Babies Breathe (HBB) program is to help the nonbreathing infant to breathe within the first minute of life, termed the "Golden Minute."
PURPOSE: To present a multinational interprofessional development program utilizing the train-the-trainer methodology for HBB to address neonatal morbidity and mortality. Involving nursing students in collaboration with establi

BACKGROUND: Positive organizational psychology (POP) offers a strengths-based framework for fostering psychological resources, well-being, engagement, and supportive organizational climates-increasingly relevant to nursing education, where students and educators face persistent academic, emotional, and workplace pressures. The global development and knowledge structure of POP-related nursing-education research remain unmapped.
METHODS: We conducted a bibliometric analysis combined with a narrative synthesis. The Web of Science Core Collection was searched on 6 August 2026 (2005-2025) using a

INTRODUCTION: Pregnancy is a time of increased healthcare screening, and past adherence to evolving guidelines informs best practices. Although studies of Group B Streptococcus guideline adherence have focused primarily on treatment of Group B Streptococcus carriers, this study broadly evaluated long-term adherence to both Group B Streptococcus screening and treatment guidelines. Adherence was evaluated across provider types (obstetrics and gynecology, certified nurse midwives, and family medicine).
METHODS: We conducted a retrospective cohort study. Demographic and clinical information were

BACKGROUND: The rapid integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) into nursing education has increased the need for nurse educators to possess adequate digital literacy, digital competence, and confidence in using AI-enabled tools. However, evidence on the mechanisms underlying educators' AI readiness remains limited, particularly in low- and middle-income contexts.
OBJECTIVE: To assess levels of digital literacy, digital competence, and AI self-efficacy among nurse educators and to examine whether digital competence statistically mediated the association between digi

INTRODUCTION: During the COVID-19 pandemic, many medical students played an active role in the healthcare sector. This cross-sectional survey was used to record the participants´ work and learning experiences.
METHODOLOGY: During the first lockdown (May/June 2020), we conducted a nationwide online survey of medical students who took part in pandemic assignments.
RESULTS: A total of 381 medical students on placement participated in the survey. The most common placement locations were hospitals (60%), followed by outpatient care (21%) and the public health services (18%). Tasks included in par

Learning disabilities (LD) is under-researched in medical and nursing education worldwide, especially regarding students' perceptions of their peers with LD-an area particularly overlooked in low- and middle-income countries like Vietnam. As future healthcare professionals, whether Vietnamese medical and nursing students are aware of or accurately understand LD, and whether their perceptions may pose barriers to creating a more inclusive educational environment for peers with LD, remained unanswered. Our study investigated the knowledge and attitudes towards LD among 845 undergraduate medical

Last autumn we commemorated the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Hradec Králové. A number of events were held and several publications were released, including a special issue of the Časopis lékařů českých entirely dedicated to this anniversary and to the faculty. At the ceremonial assembly of the academic community on 8 October 2025, the dean of the faculty, Professor Manďák, delivered an extensive speech in which he clearly described the historical circumstances of the faculty's foundation, its beginnings, development, and growth through va

OBJECTIVES: Unintentional injury is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in children. The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requires competency in medical and trauma resuscitation in patients from newborn through adulthood. Yet there is a paucity of data regarding best practices for pediatric trauma training. The goal of this study was to evaluate knowledge gaps in pediatric trauma training, implement a trauma simulation curriculum, and evaluate changes in fellows comfort level with trauma skills preimplementation and postimplementation.
METHODS: We utilized K

INTRODUCTION: Teaching learners the benefits and challenges of interprofessional collaborative practice (IPCP) in acute care is best done in the context of authentic patient care rather than classroom settings. Yet differing clinical schedules of students and faculty as well as structured, controlled environments of intensive care units are not conducive to bringing multiple interprofessional learners to the bedside.
METHODS: We developed a 2.5-hour interprofessional education (IPE) activity based around neurology intensive care unit patients that was implemented using team-based learning (TB
