BACKGROUND: The coronavirus has caused a worldwide pandemic with serious impacts on our healthcare systems. Many countries experienced a decline in traumatological patient volume. The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of the first lockdown on traumatological patient volume in Switzerland.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly being integrated into clinical radiology workflows and has the potential to make a significant contribution to patient care in the future. Although there is currently insufficient evidence to enable a definitive assessment, it is nonetheless worthwhile to gain experience with AI software in the context of imaging in traumatology. While impressive performance can already be observed in clinical practice, users must remain aware of the regulatory framework and critically evaluate AI results with a vigilant eye.

This paper shows a retrospective analysis of 98 shoulder joint CT scans after traumatic primary anterior dislocation in the period of 1988 till December 1991. The intraoperative findings and the X-ray characteristics beside arthrographic and MRI examinations led us to a classification of four types by pathomorphologic aspects, the type of the tear correlated to the degree of instability. For anterior limbus tear and lesions, a CT scan gives a diagnostic sensitivity of more than 90% (own rate 94.6%).
