BACKGROUND: Sheehan's syndrome (SS) is one of the most common causes of hypopituitarism. The primary effect of SS is a deficiency in production of growth hormone (GH). A number of studies have supported the association between congenital GH deficiency and ocular anomalies. However, ocular findings such as central corneal thickness (CCT), intraocular pressure (IOP), and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (RNFLT) have not been evaluated in patients with adult GH deficiency. AIM: To assess the clinical outcomes following the use of toric implantable collamer lenses (toric ICL, STAAR Surgical) for the correction of high myopic astigmatism with keratoconus.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to determine the central corneal thickness (CCT) and intraocular pressure (IOP) in full-term newborns and to correlate these values with the following variables: weight, sex, and post-conception age (PCA).
METHODS: IOP and CCT were determined in 52 full-term newborns with a mean gestational age of 39.43 ± 1.03 weeks and a mean birth weight of 3,273 ± 558 g. The mean age of the neonates at the time of taking the measurements was 1.15 ± 1.38 days after birth. IOP was determined with a Tono-Pen, and CCT was determined using a handheld ultrasound pachymeter.

PURPOSE: To assess the clinical efficacy of sequential intrastromal corneal ring segment (ICRS) implantation and corneal crosslinking (CXL) in corneal ectasia.
