Ebola virus disease (EVD) is a complex zoonosis that is highly virulent in humans. The largest recorded outbreak of EVD is ongoing in West Africa, outside of its previously reported and predicted niche. BACKGROUND: The Flight Anxiety Situations Questionnaire (FAS) and the Flight Anxiety Modality Questionnaire (FAM) are widely used in clinical practice and research studies. The aim of this study was to derive norms for people suffering from fear of flying completing the FAS and FAM.

We measured mortality rates in a cohort of 20,508 aerospace workers who were followed up over the period 1950-1993. A total of 4,733 workers had occupational exposure to trichloroethylene. In addition, trichloroethylene was present in some of the washing and drinking water used at the work site. Intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation (IABC) is a widely used form of mechanical circulatory assistance. We have successfully employed IABC in three patients with refractory cardiogenic shock secondary to cardiac contusion. INTRODUCTION: Since the onset of the Global War on Terror close to 50,000 United States service members have been injured in combat, many of these injuries would have previously been fatal. Among these injuries, open acetabular fractures are at an increased number due to the high percentage of penetrating injuries such as high velocity gunshot wounds and blast injuries.
