BACKGROUND: Sebaceous carcinomas (SBCs) are aggressive tumors with the potential to cause great morbidity and mortality. Poorly-differentiated tumors may at times pose challenges for the correct diagnosis. p40, a new antibody that targets a short isoform of p63 has been shown as a promising squamous cell marker. In this study, we sought to evaluate cytomorphological features of SBC and p40 expression analysis.

We report a sebaceous carcinoma confined to the corneoscleral limbus without involvement of the eyelid. A 60-year-old man, who showed multiple masses on the corneaoscleral limbus and limbal ulceration but with normal eyelids, underwent surgical en-bloc excision of the masses. Histopathologic examination revealed a sebaceous carcinoma. Three weeks after excision, multiple pagetoid recurrences were found along the bulbar conjunctiva 2 mm away from the limbus. We reviewed patient records of 99 consecutive orbital exenterations performed between 1969 and 1988. Patients ranged in age from 2 to 86 years (mean, 55.9 years). PURPOSE: We intended to review the clinical features and histological findings of eyelid lesions in Sri Lanka.
METHODS: We conducted a descriptive cross-sectional study to analyse clinicopathological characteristics of eyelid lesions from 2013 to 2017 in the National Eye Hospital of Sri Lanka.

Sebaceous carcinoma (SC) is the third most common eyelid malignancy in Australia, and is potentially fatal. It usually presents as a nodule or diffuse eyelid thickening, and is commonly misdiagnosed. We describe a case of SC with lacrimal sac involvement, presenting with clinical features of nasolacrimal duct obstruction. BACKGROUND: Vimentin is an intermediate-sized filament which is highly expressed in mesenchymal cells and is associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). EMT markers ZEB2 and Slug lead to Vimentin overexpression and E-cadherin loss, resulting in invasion and metastasis. However, the status of Vimentin remains unexplored in eyelid sebaceous gland carcinoma (SGC). The study aims to determine status of Vimentin in SGC and its association with EMT markers E-cadherin, ZEB2 and Slug.

The cytologic findings in fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies obtained from 40 primary and 18 recurrent acinic-cell carcinomas (ACC) were retrospectively analyzed. A low-grade sebaceous carcinoma was excised from a 55-year-old woman's neck. At follow-up, 11 months later, a recent diagnosis of mucinous adenocarcinoma of the colon and history of clear cell endometrial carcinoma were identified. BACKGROUND: Sebaceous carcinoma (SeC) is an uncommon malignancy arising from sebaceous glands of the conjunctiva and skin. Recurrent mutations in the ZNF750 were recently identified in ocular SeC. We assessed whether ZNF750 loss is a specific feature of ocular SeC or a general feature of sebaceous tumors.
METHODS: Immunostaining for ZNF750 expression was performed in 54 benign and malignant sebocytic proliferations. Staining for ZNF750 was scored on a three-tier scale: positive (>75%), partially positive (5%-74%), and negative (<5%).
