Establishment and validation of clinical prediction models for preterm birth in patients with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy: Single-center retrospective observational study.

This study aimed to develop and validate a prediction model for preterm birth in patients with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. A retrospective analysis was conducted using demographic and clinical data from 370 patients with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy. Multivariate logistic regression was used to screen predictive factors and construct the prediction model. The model's discriminative ability, calibration, and clinical utility were evaluated. Six relevant independent predictors were identified: employment status, placental grading, pharmacotherapy status, lymphocyte count, neu

The impact of different birth weights on the incidence of maternal pelvic floor dysfunction and the value of ultrasound evaluation: A single-center retrospective study.

This study investigates the impact of different newborn birth weights on the incidence of early postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD) in mothers and evaluates the value of perineal ultrasound in risk assessment. A total of 168 women who delivered at our hospital between June 2023 and May 2025 and completed a 6- to 8-week postpartum follow-up were included. All participants had full-term, single, head-first, vaginal deliveries. Newborns were categorized into 4 birth weight groups: Q1 (≤3080 g), Q2 (3081-3365 g), Q3 (3366-3680 g), and Q4 (≥3681 g). Live Birth Rate Comparison Between Single vs. Double Ovary Women With Assisted Reproduction: A Single Tertiary Center Study.

Introduction One of the major hardships faced by married couples is the inability to conceive a child. This issue is becoming more prevalent given the increasing rate of infertility worldwide. Assisted reproductive technology (ART) has brought hope to infertile couples. We aim to estimate the live birth rate (LBR) and pregnancy rate in women with one ovary compared with those with two ovaries. Methods A retrospective cohort study of women who underwent ART at King Abdulaziz Medical City (Jan 2000 - Dec 2018) was conducted. Five cycles of patient data were collected. The LBR (both conditional a

Cumulative live-birth, perinatal and obstetric outcomes for POSEIDON groups after IVF/ICSI cycles: a single-center retrospective study.

Recently, perinatal outcomes and cumulative live birth rate (CLBR) have widely been utilized to assess the fertility outcomes and safety of assisted reproductive technology (ART), but more robust research is needed to address the success rates of live-healthy births resulting from this procedure, particularly for patients with low prognosis. This study aims to assess and comparative perinatal outcomes and CLBR per cycle of in vitro fertilization/Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) between four groups of low prognosis characterized by POSEIDON criteria. A retrospective assessment was do

Management of one hundred seventy-one operative and nonoperative obstetrical birth palsies at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center.

OBJECTIVE: The management of obstetrical brachial plexus injury, often called birth palsy, remains one of the most controversial topics in pediatric neurosurgery. Most birth palsies have acceptable spontaneous recoveries, whereas only a minority require surgical intervention. A selective approach for surgery was used in this Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) series, for which the operative rate was 9%. At LSUHSC, the patient with obstetrical brachial plexus injury is followed for 6 to 9 months before surgery, which is performed if there is no satisfactory biceps and/or

Impact of β-Blockers on the Risk of Low-Birth-Weight Infants in Women with Long QT Syndrome or Marfan Syndrome: A Single-Center Retrospective Study from 2008 to 2022 in a Tertiary Care Center.

INTRODUCTION: β-Blockers are an essential treatment for cardiovascular disease, the incidence of which is rising among women of childbearing age. Several large cohort and registry studies have reported an association between β-blocker exposure in pregnancy and reduced birth weight, but most have included women with hypertension or structural heart disease. Our study's primary objective was to evaluate the impact of these medications on the birth weight of infants born to mothers with morphologically normal hearts, including women with long QT syndrome (LQTS) or Marfan syndrome (MFS).
