Four days of isoproterenol injections induced a marked enlargement of the rat parotid and submandibular glands reflected in significant increases in the absolute and relative wet and dry weight of the glands. We determined the rates of lateral ventricular enlargement and decline in cognitive performance for 11 men and nine women with dementia of the Alzheimer type (DAT), and compared these rates with the same measures obtained for age-matched healthy controls (nine men and eight women). BACKGROUND: Ovarian carcinoma spreads by implantation of tumor cells onto the peritoneal mesothelium. We established a 3-dimensional coculture model to simulate the interactions of ovarian carcinoma cell aggregates with human peritoneal mesothelial cells (HPMC).

OBJECTIVE: CT scans of the chest in 32 patients undergoing immunotherapy for metastatic renal cell carcinoma were evaluated to determine the incidence and significance of axillary lymph node enlargement during therapy.
CONCLUSION: Axillary node enlargement in cancer patients undergoing immunotherapy should not be assumed to be metastatic in origin but may result from the stimulation of the immune system during treatment.

Enlargement of the ipsilateral muscle compartment is an exceptional finding in patients with chronic radiculopathy, peripheral nerve injury, anterior horn cell diseases, or acquired peripheral neuropathy.
