The mechanisms of radical-mediated addition of hydrogen bromide to an alkene and of allylic bromination rely on a balance between competing addition and hydrogen abstraction by the bromine radical. INTRODUCTION: Lyral is a fragrance that is present in many cosmetic products. It has turned into an emergent allergen during the last years. In studies carried out in other European countries, the prevalence of sensitization to Lyral has been found to be 1.9-2.7 %, but it is unknown the prevalence in Spain, as well as the need to include it or not in the standard series of the Spanish Group of Contact Dermatitis (GEIDC).
METHODS: We have patch-tested to Lyral all patients with suspicion of contact dermatitis of any origin who attended our Service between April and May-2005.

Benzoyl nitroside (5) was generated in solution by laser photolysis of 3,5-diphenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole-4-oxide (4) and studied by time-resolved infrared spectroscopy. The second-order rate constants for reaction of 5 with diethylamine and 1,3-cyclohexadiene were determined to be (1.3 +/- 0.5) x 10(5) M(-1) s(-1) and (6.0 +/- 0.5) x 10(3) M(-1) s(-1), respectively. In the present study were studied the antinociceptives properties of monoterpene R-(+)-limonene (LM) in chemical and thermal models of nociception in mice. The R-(+)-limonene was administered, intraperitoneally (i.p.), at doses of 25 and 50 mg/kg. The results showed significant inhibition produced on chemical nociception induced by intraperitoneal acetic-acid and in the second phase of subplantar formalin test, but did not manifest a significant effect in hot-plate test. A 97% d-limonene preparation was injected as a bolus into the biliary tract of cats. Depending on volume, contact time, and flow direction of the solution, acute or chronic inflammatory damages for varions degrees were found in the hepatobiliary tissues of all animals treated with the d-limonene solution. These observed histopathological changes due to contact with the terpene compound, restrict the value of the d-limonene preparation as described by Igimi et al. for dissolving cholesterol gallstones retained in the human common bile duct.

Cyclohexenyl chalcones represent prenylated natural products characterized by a cyclohexene ring fused to the chalcone. In this study, eight new cyclohexenyl chalcones, rotundatins A-H (1-8), were purified from the edible rhizome of Boesenbergia rotunda. This study searched for volatile organic compounds (VOCs）having antibacterial and antiviral efficacy.
