A 5-year-old domestic short-haired spayed female cat was presented for abdominal pain and suspended defecation. Abdominal radiographs confirmed constipation; abdominal ultrasonography showed a cystic oval structure attached to the colon. The structure exhibited a well-defined wall, composed of three layers. Inverted diverticula of the gastrointestinal tract are rare. This paper briefly presents the roentgen findings of an inverted Meckel's diverticulum and is the first reported case of the roentgen appearance of an inverted colonic diverticulum.

Diverticulosis of the colon is a common disease of the older population which develops in those people who eat highly refined carbohydrate diets free of roughage. High intraluminal pressures are created in the resultant narrowed colon which tends to push the mucosa between circular muscle bundles through oblique connective tissue clefts containing the vasa recta. Massive bleeding of the colon is most commonly due to right-sided diverticulosis. It can be explained by chronic injury to the vasa recta which lie within the submucosa of the diverticulum from the apex to the antimesenteric orifice.

We present a 70-year-old male patient with an unusual incidental finding at an elective repair of an indirect left inguinal hernia (LIH). A black nodule resembling a melanoma metastasis in a lymph node was discovered attached to the spermatic cord. There was no contiguity with the large bowel on the same side. Histological examination showed an isolated, detached colonic diverticulum containing a faecolith. We postulate derivation from an incarcerated colonic diverticulum that became 'parasitised' onto the spermatic cord.

Giant colonic diverticulum (GCD) is a diverticulum that is larger than 4 cm in diameter most commonly arising from the sigmoid colon. Patients with GCD are typically asymptomatic, and clinical manifestations vary from a soft palpable abdominal mass to diarrhea, which is well described in the literature. However, few studies have demonstrated a presentation of GCD with acute diverticulitis. Herein, we report a case of a middle-aged patient presenting with sepsis due to acute diverticulitis as an initial presentation of a GCD.

A patient was admitted for a suspected appendicitis; occasionally, a roentgenogram of abdomen, an echography and a tomography: confirmed the suspect. OBJECTIVES: To report an unusual presentation of a giant sigmoid diverticulum in the colon.
CLINICAL PRESENTATION AND INTERVENTION: The patient presented with an abdominal mass, altered bowel habits, and increasing weight. The provisional diagnosis was made by barium enema and CT scan. The patient underwent laparotomy, revealing a perforated giant sigmoid diverticulum that was excised using Hartmann's procedure. The perforation could have been precipitated by the barium enema study. The histopathology of the resected specimen revealed giant sigmoid diverticulum with no evidence of malignancy.
