Antioxidant capacity of honey derives from both polypHenols and proteins. We aimed to define putative antioxidant-protein signatures across honeys of differing botanical origin and relate them to pollen for authenticity assessment. This study employed QuEChERS extraction method combined with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to analyse honey samples from Albania for nitroimidazole residues. This paper presents a pioneer study on the microbial diversity and antibacterial potential of hive bees (Apis cerana and A. mellifera) honey collected from Himachal Pradesh. In total, 26 bacteria (14 from A. cerana and 12 from A. mellifera) but no fungal isolate were recovered.
