The pattern recognition receptor, RAGE (receptor for advanced glycation endproducts), propagates cellular dysfunction in several inflammatory disorders and diabetes. We found previously that the laminin-1-derived synthetic peptide AG73 (LQVQLSIR) promoted ovarian cancer cell metastasis in vivo.
