Occupational skin disease (OSD) is a significant public health concern. To keep OSDs under surveillance, a register of OSDs (BKH-S) was implemented in 1999 in the Saarland, FRG. We conducted a population-based register study to analyse all initial reports of OSDs reported to the BKH-S. 336 cases were prospectively assessed from July 1999 to June 2001.
