Asssociation between occupational stress, work arrangements, and depression in men: Review of observational studies 2020-2025.

BACKGROUND: Men may be particularly vulnerable to cumulative occupational stress because of breadwinner expectations, employment in high-risk industries, night work, and delayed help-seeking. However, evidence linking occupational stress and nonstandard work arrangements to depression in men remains inconsistent because of heterogeneous study designs, exposure definitions, and outcome measures. METHODS: This review synthesized observational studies published between 2020 and 2025 that examined the effects of psychosocial occupational stress, shift or night work, and long working hours on clin

Occupational determinants of anxiety, depression, and stress among community pharmacists in Jordan: a cross-sectional study.

Mental-health burdens among pharmacists are a growing concern worldwide. Data from Jordan, however, remain sparse. The study objective was to quantify anxiety, depression, and perceived stress among Jordanian community pharmacists and to identify modifiable occupational determinants of these outcomes. In this cross-sectional study, research pharmacists distributed a validated questionnaire in person by sharing a survey link via Google Forms with licensed community pharmacists in their residential areas using convenience sampling. Validated Arabic versions of the GAD-7, PHQ-9, and PSS-10 scales

Associations between occupational stress, work-family imbalance, and harmful alcohol consumption among workers: A longitudinal study.

AIM: This study aimed to longitudinally examine the effects of occupational stress and bidirectional work-family spillover on harmful alcohol consumption (HAC) among workers. METHODS: We conducted online surveys in December 2020 and June 2021 among Japanese workers aged 20-65. The follow-up survey targeted participants from the initial wave and yielded 824 responses. After excluding individuals with an Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) score of 8 or higher at baseline, the final analysis included 640 participants. The study measured HAC using AUDIT. Researchers assessed bidire

Occupational Stress as a Possible Risk Factor for Rotator Cuff Damage - Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.

PURPOSE: In September 2021, the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Germany (BMAS) recommended recognising rotator cuff lesions caused by occupational long-term overhead work, repetitive movements, hand-arm-vibration and carrying and lifting heavy loads as an occupational disease. To gain a more detailed understanding of the correlation between occupational risk factors and lesions of the rotator cuff, a systematic literature review was carried out to determine their influence on the development of rotator cuff disease. MATERIAL AND METHOD: A systematic literature review was used

Effects of occupational lead exposure on oxidative stress and essential metal homeostasis in humans: A scoping review.

Lead is a systemic toxic agent, and occupational exposure remains a serious public health problem. A search of PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science identified English-language studies published between 2015 and 2025 that included research assessing oxidative stress biomarkers and essential metals in adults occupationally exposed to lead. 45 studies with 7 314 participants were included. The findings demonstrate that occupational lead exposure increases reactive oxygen species production and oxidative damage (as evidenced by elevated levels of malondialdehyde, lipid hydroperoxides, and 8-OHdG). Effects of EMDR psychotherapy on 99mTc-HMPAO distribution in occupation-related post-traumatic stress disorder.

BACKGROUND: Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a derangement of mood control with involuntary, emotionally fraught recollections that may follow deep psychological trauma in susceptible individuals. This condition is treated with pharmacological and/or cognitive therapies as well as psychotherapy with eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). However, only a very limited number of studies have been published dealing with work-related PTSD, and investigations on the effect of treatment on cerebral blood flow represent an even smaller number. AIM: To investigate the short-term

Effects of occupational stress on the distribution of circulating T lymphocyte subsets and psychological health of young anaesthesiologists.

BACKGROUND: High-intensity work environments and high psychological stress place anaesthesiologists in a state of chronic stress. T lymphocyte subsets are an essential component of the peripheral immune cells and are important in the pathophysiology of chronic stress. The aim of this study was to investigate the levels of psychological stress, the expression levels of circulating T lymphocyte subsets, and the correlation between them. METHODS: This study included 61 participants from two tertiary hospitals in Nanjing, China. The Chinese Perceived Stress Scale (CPSS), Patient Health Questionna

[Biochemical markers of stress in medical workers with occupational burnout syndrome and their dynamics in the application of physiotherapeutic factors].

UNLABELLED: Professional burnout syndrome is becoming an increasingly important social and medical problem, as it can occur in almost every third doctor or nurse. This syndrome is based on chronic stress, which provokes the development of a close relationship between the indicators of various psychological tests and questionnaires, hormonal and biochemical markers of metabolic disorders of carbohydrates and lipids, as well as parameters characterizing oxidative stress. One of the promising directions in the treatment and prevention of occupational burnout syndrome is physiotherapy technologies

METHODS: A total of 1488 employees participated. Questionnaires included the value of blood pressure, occupational stress (assessed by the effort-reward imbalance scale), demographic factors and work conditions. Occupational outcomes of posttraumatic stress disorder residential treatment in active duty service members: Predictors of military separation.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) significantly impacts active duty service members, posing challenges to both individual well-being and military readiness. This study examined the long-term outcomes of a residential PTSD treatment program, focusing on the association between symptom change and military separation. Participants were 282 active duty service members diagnosed with PTSD. PTSD symptom severity was assessed weekly using the PTSD Checklist-Military version (PCL-M). Military separation data were collected from administrative records. A multivariate joint model analyzed the associa

Occupational stress and white matter integrity: a methodological perspective : Short title: White matter integrity and burnout: considerations.

Work-related stress and burnout are increasingly prevalent, yet their neural correlates remain poorly understood. Kokubun and colleagues recently reported that fractional anisotropy in the superior longitudinal fasciculus, internal capsule, and external capsule statistically links workload to cynicism in healthy adults. While the original authors acknowledged several limitations, tract-averaging, FA non-specificity, and the heuristic use of Conservation of Resources theory, we argue that their implications deserve further emphasis. Atlas-based tract averaging may obscure regional variability w
