OBJECTIVE: As outlined by the NIH, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a group of hereditary connective tissue disorders characterized by skin hyperelasticity, joint hypermobility, atrophic scarring, and blood vessel fragility, with no otolaryngological criteria for diagnosis. We aimed to compare otolaryngological disorders between children with EDS and those not affected by EDS.
METHODS: A retrospective chart review was conducted using the US collaborative network within TriNetX. The EDS group was defined by ICD-10 code G47.33, while the non-EDS group excluded any patients with an EDS diagnosis.

Surface basophilic cells in samples obtained from the inferior concha of nasal polyp patients were examined microscopically. Although the cells were believed to be specific to nasal allergy patients, we were also able to observe them in nasal polyp patients without nasal allergy. BACKGROUND: Rhinoscleroma is a chronic granuloma that is endemic in Egypt and is caused by gram-negative bacilli (Klebsiella rhinoscleromatis). The nasal mucosa is affected in almost all cases, which causes nasal obstruction, anosmia, and epistaxis. Functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) is a new and exciting treatment for chronic sinus disease. Our knowledge of the surgery continues to expand. BACKGROUND: Platelet-rich plasma is a novel material that is being used more frequently in many surgical specialties.
METHODS: A literature review on the current and potential uses of platelet-rich plasma in otolaryngology was performed.
RESULTS: There is limited evidence on the use of platelet-rich plasma in otolaryngology compared with other specialties: only 11 studies on various subspecialties (otology, rhinology and laryngology) were included in the final review.
CONCLUSION: Based on the limited number of studies, we cannot draw safe conclusions about the value of platelet-rich plasma
