BACKGROUND: In children and adolescents, testicular sex cord stromal tumors (TSCSTs) are rare. There is only limited information available regarding their clinical presentation, biology, and prognosis.
METHODS: Between 1993 and 2009, 42 patients were prospectively reported to the cooperative MAHO and MAKEI studies on childhood germ cell tumors. Based on standardized documentation, data on epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic features, histopathological differentiation, therapy, and follow-up were evaluated.

The aim of this study was to analize clinical diagnoses and histopathological reports in 185 cases of male infertility, investigated by testicular biopsies in the period 1993-1997. The classical objective of such investigations has been to clarify either obstructive, or so-called secretory lesions resulting in azoospermia. We looked for a possible association between Klinefelter syndrome (KFS) and microdeletions in the Y chromosome in Turkish KFS patients. We examined the frequency of KFS in male patients with proven non-obstructive azoospermia and the types of Y chromosome microdeletions in these KFS patients. The results of surgical treatment of 33 men with azoospermia and varicocele are presented. Microscopic examination of a testicular biospy revealed the Sertoli-cells-only syndrome in nine subjects while degenerative changes in the seminiferous tubules of one or both testes were present in another six persons.
