In this work, diopside based ceramics was obtained by solid state reaction using conventional sintering (CS) and microwave sintering (MS). Moreover, different amounts of P2O5 (0.5-5.0 wt.%) have been added. It has been found that a relative density up to 95% theoretical was obtained for diopside containing 2.0 and 5.0 wt.% P2O5, sintered at 1250 °C for 2h and at 1075 °C only for 15 min using CS and MS. Cimetidine was used as the routine antacid treatment for 1323 parturients. The findings from 70 of those who needed an emergency general anaesthetic are reported. Once sufficient time had elapsed for absorption of the drug, and provided that the dosage regime was adhered to, 96% of the women studied had an intragastric pH above 2.5. Neonatal monitoring revealed no abnormalities related to the cimetidine treatment.

Magnesium trisilicate mixture is an antacid used commonly in our Intensive Care Unit in the prevention and treatment of stress ulcers. In this case the administration of large doses over a period of time led to the development of massive hyperosmolality, cerebral dehydration and coma. The presence of a Baker's cyst may diminish the therapeutic effect of intra-articular 90Y treatment to the knee joint. The use of silicic acid adsorption of plasma, with a subsequent acid wash and aqueous acetone desorption, was successful in removing those substances which had interfered with the steroidogenic response of dispersed adrenal cells when unextracted plasma was employed.
