The impact of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) on delayed tooth replantation: A preliminary animal study.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) placed in delayed replantation of mature extracted teeth. Sixteen intentionally extracted teeth in two mature beagle dogs were selected. In one quadrant of each jaw, the extraction sockets were filled with PRF prior to replantation, and the other quadrant served as control without PRF. All extracted teeth underwent endodontic treatment and dried for 60 min. Thereafter, they were replanted with a flexible splint. After 8 weeks, the animals were euthanised, and the histological sections examined. Less inflammatory roo

Impact of moderate to heavy occlusal forces and tooth wear on interproximal caries prevalence in posterior teeth.

This cross sectional analytical study evaluated whether clinical indicators of occlusal forces are associated with the prevalence of interproximal caries in posterior teeth. A total of 403 posterior teeth from 109 patients (12-70 years) attending Mashhad Dental School were examined. Dental facets, non carious cervical lesions, occlusion type, and contact position were recorded as clinical indicators of occlusal forces, and interproximal caries was assessed clinically and radiographically using ICDAS II criteria. Caries risk status was determined using the CAMBRA system. The association between

Prevalence of tooth transposition, third molar agenesis, and maxillary canine impaction in individuals with Down syndrome.

Alterations in the size, morphology and number of teeth are among the many inherited disorders that have been reported in individuals with Down syndrome. By contrast, third molar agenesis and tooth transposition have been largely ignored and the prevalence of canine impaction has not been reported. The intention of this study was to quantify the occurrence of these anomalies in a group of individuals with Down syndrome, using standardized records, which included a clinical examination, dental casts, and a panoramic radiograph. The results show a notably high prevalence of third molar agenesis

Effectiveness of concentrated growth factor and laser therapy on wound healing, inferior alveolar nerve injury and periodontal bone defects post-mandibular impacted wisdom tooth extraction: A randomized clinical trial.

Источник пометил публикацию как отозванную

The extraction of wisdom teeth with mandibular impact frequently results in complications including damage to the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) and malformations of the bone. The objective of this research endeavour was to assess the efficacy of low-level laser therapy and concentrated growth factor (CGF) in facilitating nerve recovery and wound healing in such instances. A total of thirty-one patients (mean age 27.52 ± 5.79 years) who presented with IAN injury after extraction were randomly assigned to one of three groups: control group (which received oral mecobalamin), CGF group (which rece
