Immunohistochemistry was used to examine the type of lymphocytes in muscle taeniosis-cysticercosis in naturally infected pigs. The inflammatory response studied was classified into lesions of grades 1, 3, and 5. In grade 1, with a minimal inflammatory infiltrate consisting of eosinophils and a few mononuclear cells, the immunostaining showed more CD4+ cells than CD8+ cells and IgM cells. This study was undertaken to determine the possible health risk associated with raw wastewater use in agricultural purposes, particularly, the transmission of parasite infections among children of five regions in Beni-Mellal, Morocco. In order to determine whether Taenia solium can be maintained in the laboratory using rodents as definitive hosts, six nude rats, 20 immunosuppressed Mongolian gerbils and 20 immunosuppressed Syrian hamsters were each inoculated through a stomach tube with three cysticerci recovered from SCID mice. This paper describes the evaluation of the protective antibody response of sheep to vaccination against Taenia ovis infection with a defined recombinant antigen (45W). Sera from 181 vaccinated sheep, collected prior to experimental challenge with T.ovis, were assessed for 45W specific IgA, IgG, IgG1, IgG2 and IgM levels and these results correlated with protection data.
