OBJECTIVE: To observe the clinical effect of pricking-cupping combined with auricular thumbtack needle for postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) of qi stagnation and blood stasis on chest and waist.

Changes taking place in both Qi Gong Masters and their patients during Qi Gong treatment were evaluated using the Bi-Digital O-Ring Test. Auricular pruritus coexisted with multiple cranial nerve lesions in Ramsay Hunt syndrome has been rarely reported in the literature especially its treatment. However, auricular pruritus cannot be better improved along with the improvement of multiple cranial nerve lesions. We tried to solve the problem with acupuncture and got experience from it. The following 2 cases of Ramsay Hunt syndrome show a potential modality for the treatment of auricular pruritus with acupuncture.

BACKGROUND: A lot of attention has been given to premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) as it poses considerable health risks to women. It is characterized by oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, infertility, autoimmune disorders, and ischemic heart disease, with increased mortality. Previous research indicates that auricular acupuncture is proven effective in treating POI in clinical practice. However, systematic review has not been carried out. The non-nociceptive H-reflex in the musculus soleus were recorded before and after auricular electroacupuncture (AEAP) in patients with vertebrogenic pain syndrome. Changes of the H-reflex on the side of the pain syndrome were observed after ipsi- and contralateral AEAP, the latter producing effect more often. Changes of H-reflex are mainly of facilitating character (71.4%) and, rarely, of inhibitory character (14.3%). In the part of patients AEAP produced distinct facilitation of M-response.
