Captopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that prevents angiotensin I (ATI) from being converted to angiotensin II (ATII). BACKGROUND: To assess whether angiotensin-II receptor blockers (ARBs) offer any additional advantage in confirming the diagnosis of primary aldosteronism (PA) and their use in the differentiation of PA subtypes.

This article reports the case of a rapidly severe stenosis of the right renal artery, causing uncontrolled hypertension. After failure of a percutaneous transluminal renal angioplasty, which provoked the thrombosis of the vessel, a surgical revascularization was performed after +/- eighteen hours of renal ischemia.
