β-artemether (ARM) is a widely used anti-malarial drug isolated from the Chinese antimalarial plant, Artemisia annua. The solvent effects on crystal habits and dissolution of ARM were thoroughly investigated and discussed herein. The ARM was recrystallized in nine different solvents of varied polarity, namely, methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, tetrahydrofuran, dichloromethane, trichloromethane, ethyl acetate, acetone and hexane by solvent evaporation method. We report the effect of hydrostatic pressure on the magnetotransport properties of the Weyl semimetal NbAs. Subtle changes can be seen in the ρ(xx)(T) profiles with pressure up to 2.31 GPa. Gout is a very common joint disease which is due to chronic hyperuricemia and its related articular involvements. Yet it can be cured when appropriately managed. The clinical history and the pathohistological findings of a peculiar form of multifocal scleral calcification in 3 globes of 2 patients are described. We examined 6,132 cervical smears, applying strict criteria separating hematoidin cockleburrs from crystalline bodies. We found only crystalline bodies in 37 cases. There was a significant increase in the incidence of crystalline bodies in women taking oral contraceptives and in pregnant women. Are presented the results obtained by artificial lens pupillary implant (Fedorov) at 22 eyes, 18 patients between 48-81 years old, to which the development of cataracta was characterized by a great difference between the eyes. The alpha-crystallins (alpha A and alpha B) are major lens structural proteins of the vertebrate eye that are related to the small heat shock protein family. Two patients developed corneal opacities resembling infectious crystalline keratopathy. Predisposing factors included a recent corneal transplant with suture replacement in one patient and postradiation keratoconjunctivitis with disposable therapeutic contact-lens wear in the other patient.
