We report the in vitro reproduction of the classic histologic and ultrastructural features of familial benign chronic pemphigus (FBCP) by seeding suspensions of lesional keratinocytes onto healthy heterologous dead deepidermized dermis (DED). With the use of normal keratinocytes, control cultures showed a well-differentiated epidermis, with keratohyaline granules and lamellar bodies. This study delineated the characteristics of 24 (11.2%) culture-positive, influenza-associated pulmonary aspergillosis (IAPA) patients out of 215 patients with severe influenza during 2016-2019 in a medical center in southern Taiwan. Twenty (83.3%) patients did not have EORTC/MSG-defined host factors. We have described a system for the maintenance in culture of isolated human thyroid cells from both thyrotoxic tissue and non-toxic goitres. The cells isolated from the two thyroid tissue types showed similar cyclic AMP response characteristics to TSH with large increases in intracellular and extracellular cyclic AMP after 20-min incubations.
