Digital health in pharmacy education: Elective practical course integrating wearable devices and their generated health data.

The widespread adoption of wearable devices (wearables) for monitoring vital signs, including blood pressure and glucose levels, has experienced a considerable surge in recent times. This surge has led to the generation of a substantial amount of health data, accessible to pharmacists during patient consultations as the healthcare sector advances in digitalization. To enhance the digital competencies of future pharmacists required by the rapidly changing digital health landscape, the Institute of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacotherapy, Heinrich Heine University (HHU) Duesseldorf has developed a

Challenges and experiences in digital health equity: a qualitative exploration of the implementation of the Health Code system in China.

BACKGROUND: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the rapid deployment of digital health technologies (DHTs), exemplified by the Health Code, quickly integrated many older adults, many of whom lacked digital readiness, into the digital society. This accelerated integration revealed a range of challenges faced by older adults in using DHTs. To effectively implement digital epidemic control measures while meeting the daily needs of the elderly, the Chinese government needs to adopt pragmatic policy responses to bridge the digital health divide. OBJECTIVE: This study investigates the barriers faced by o

[Ambitions and main conclusions of the conference "Global health, local decisions" organized by the Digital Health Network].

Health is "a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity". Health must therefore be considered in its entirety. To begin with, however, it is vital to move swiftly from the concept of holistic health to its practical implementation. This is what the first Digital Health Network symposium proposed on May 30 and 31, 2024. The Digital Health Network was originally set up by a group of players from the healthcare sector, industry, research and elected representatives, with the aim of pooling feedback from experience as close as possi

Digital health innovation in HIV prevention and sexual health promotion: current applications and future prospects of mobile health and telehealth.

Digital health is now a delivery strategy for HIV prevention and sexual health promotion, not simply a channel for health education. Mobile messaging, web-based testing, HIV self-testing (HIVST) support, mobile applications, social media recruitment, telehealth, tele-pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), and chatbot-assisted workflows can reduce barriers related to stigma, distance, clinic capacity, and confidentiality. These tools also create an opportunity for primary HIV and sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention before high-risk patterns are established, using positive, age-appropriate

BACKGROUND AND AIM: Tuberculosis (TB) continues to pose a major global public health burden, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Although biomedical interventions have advanced, prevention remains strongly influenced by behavioral, sociocultural, and systemic determinants. Health literacy, health promotion, and digital health innovations have demonstrated potential in improving TB-related outcomes; however, their integration within a unified theoretical framework remains limited. This study aimed to synthesize evidence on TB prevention strategies by integrating health literacy, h

Study on the path of combining music and digital health technology to promote the health of older adult groups.

OBJECTIVE: As the global population ages, non-pharmacological interventions such as personalized music therapy show promise for wellbeing in older adults. We propose the Fusion-Attentive Temporal Network (FAT-Net). This dual-stream model processes minute level heart-rate and music on/off data alongside daily summary features to predict a composite health score. METHODS: Data from 92 participants over 45 ± 10 days were augmented fourfold using jittering, time-warping, magnitude scaling, and SMOTE. The temporal stream uses Conv1D, BiLSTM, and self-attention pooling. The summary stream uses a th

Perceived digital health information support and self-rated health among Chinese adults: physical activity mediation and chronic health condition moderation.

BACKGROUND: Digital health resources provide new opportunities for health information seeking, decision-making, and self-management. Yet residents differ in how they understand, evaluate, and use online health information. This study focuses on perceived digital health information support, namely the perceived usefulness of internet-based information for medical understanding and health-related decision support. Evidence remains limited on how this perceived support relates to self-rated health through physical activity and whether this association differs by chronic health needs and populatio

Mapping digital health maturity models and accreditation-linked standards: a scoping review to position the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) digital health standards of India.

BACKGROUND: Digital transformation in healthcare is guided globally by digital health maturity models and accreditation-linked standards. In India, the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) introduced landmark Digital Health Standards (DHS) for hospitals (2025 draft). This provides a national framework, but its positioning within the complex global landscape is unclear, making it challenging for stakeholders to benchmark progress and plan strategically. OBJECTIVES: The primary objective was to map the features, domains, and assessment approaches of prominent

Towards a justice-based reimagination of digital health research and innovation: actionable considerations for learning health systems.

The need to embed decolonising methodologies in health-care practice has been recognised globally. The term decolonising health, which has become a topic of increasing public and academic discourse since 2021, refers to the dismantling of colonial systems of dominance and oppression ingrained within health systems and structures. Despite the growing recognition of the need for decolonisation in broader health research and practice, the application of a decolonial lens to the rapidly evolving field of digital health remains largely underexplored. An active commitment to decolonisation should be
