A study on industrial ocular morbidity was carried out in 6 industrial establishments at Saharanpur. The mean age of the respondents was 35.3 years. 58.2% were regular floor staff. 10.6% professed suffering from an industrial ocular injury. 60% of these injuries were sustained by ocular metallic trauma. 51.9% complained of ocular symptoms at the time of the survey. The frequency of ocular complaints increased with age. The point prevalence of ocular morbidity was 746.03/1000 industrial workers. Refractive errors were the commonest ocular condition (56.7%) observed, followed by Trachoma (32.6%)

We undertook the first study systematically evaluating the risk of Anisakis-sensitization in Croatian fish-processing workers and potential genetic susceptibility to anisakiasis. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Go Sun Smart, a sun safety education program, directed to parents and children enrolled in ski and snowboard schools at high altitude resorts in western North America. AIM: To examine the acute effects of wearing swimming goggles upon intraocular pressure (IOP).
METHODS: This research consisted of a Pilot study and a Validation study. Holes were drilled into the faces of 13 different goggles to allow IOP measurement by applanation tonometry. OBJECTIVE: To describe the use of a double drape tectonic patch with cyanoacrylate glue technique for the treatment of deep or penetrating corneal defects in cats and dogs.
ANIMALS STUDIED: Eight client-owned animals of which five were cats and three were dogs.
PROCEDURE: Eight cases: Four with descemetoceles, three with corneal perforations, and one with a deep stromal ulcer were treated with a double layer of plastic drape material adhered to the cornea with a cyanoacrylate (2-octyl or 2-octyl, N-butyl)-based tissue adhesive. The knowledge of sunlight effects on the eyes and protective behaviors was assessed in the general community of Brisbane, Australia. Five hundred people were systematically sampled and surveyed via a telephone questionnaire. Of the participants, 279 (56%) were female and 258 (52%) were aged 40 years or less. Levels of knowledge were found to be lower in the older subjects, those with dark complexions and outdoor workers. SIGNIFICANCE: Familial dysautonomia is a rare genetic disorder that affects the sensory and autonomic nervous systems. Affected individuals have decreased corneal sensation and can develop serious complications from neurotrophic keratitis. Scleral devices are an excellent option for the long-term management of patients with familial dysautonomia and neurotrophic keratitis.
